Yes. Under the “Explore Nearby Baristas” section, the platform allows you to view nearby online baristas, check their availability/ratings, and choose between pickup or delivery options depending on what is most convenient for you at the playground.
Baristas receive requests in real time. They stay online on the app to receive nearby broadcast requests sent by parents at the playground. Once a request comes in, the barista can manage and claim it instantly with a single tap, brew the coffee, and deliver it to build trust and grow their reputation within the community.
KAFFEEFUNK works through a simple, community-driven coffee journey:
Visit Park: You arrive at your local playground with your children.
Broadcast: You send a real-time coffee request specifying your preferences to nearby active community baristas.
Acceptance: A nearby neighborhood barista instantly claims your request.
Delivery: The barista brews and brings your fresh, roastery-quality coffee directly to you at the park gate or sandbox (meaning you don’t have to leave the playground).
Review: You confirm the delivery, leave a review, and can optionally support the preservation and further development of the App with a donation.
Since the KAFFEEFUNK project is very much based on trust, community, and sustainability, the coffee is first delivered in the baristas’ cups. Parents are asked to return the cups. Alternatively, the coffee is served in paper cups.
In the later stages of development, it would be conceivable to introduce a so-called ‘Recup system’.
Due to the app architecture, it’s not possible to be both a barista and user at the same time. However, you can log in with a second email and take on both roles.
Yes, the basic principle is based on ‘free coffee from the neighborhood for parents at playgrounds.’ Instead of traditional payments, users can make a donation to support the maintenance, operation, and further development of KAFFEEFUNK. Parents can also support their baristas through voluntary reviews. With each order or serving, both parents and baristas earn ‘Kindness Coins’ and can move up in the ranking at the local playground.
Coffee requests are meant for parents on playgrounds. The platform connects these busy parents with passionate, nearby neighborhood baristas to make playground mornings smoother and more connected. Additionally, to ensure the platform is used safely and as intended, it features a “Daylight Operation” UI, meaning it is designed to operate only during daylight hours specifically for playground-using parents.
